Prince Harry is reportedly making serious efforts to repair his fractured relationship with the Royal Family, but he may be doing it without the support of his wife, Meghan Markle, according to new claims. The Duke of Sussex has been estranged from his royal relatives since his dramatic departure from royal duties in 2020 and his subsequent move to the United States.
A series of public criticisms directed at the monarchy in interviews, documentaries, and his memoir have only widened the rift. However, in a recent interview with the BBC, Harry expressed a desire to reconcile with his family. Sources now suggest he is actively planning his next steps toward reconciliation, which may include a solo visit to the UK.

According to insiders who spoke with RadarOnline, Harry has come to believe that trying to fix royal relations with Meghan has been counterproductive. “He’s finally realised that the way he handled things before hasn’t brought any progress, and this marks a genuine shift in how he’s trying to move forward,” the source claimed.
The Duke is reportedly considering options such as “one-on-one conversations, mediation, or even video calls” to re-establish communication with senior royals. “Harry didn’t expect the fallout to drag on this long,” the source continued. “He’s beginning to see that including Meghan only complicates things with the royals, so he’s accepted, though not happily, that going it alone might be the only option for now.”

The source also noted the emotional toll the situation has taken on Harry. “It’s incredibly hard for him. He cares deeply for Meghan, but he can’t deny the reality of the situation anymore. If there’s any hope of reconnecting with his family, he knows he has to try without her.”
While Harry is said to be preparing for a return to Britain “with his tail between his legs and begging bowl in his hands,” he has also admitted to feeling “lost” in the U.S., where the couple now reside with their children, Archie and Lilibet.

Though the Duke has expressed affection for his life in California, he acknowledged the challenges during the New York Times DealBook Online Summit last December. “I very much enjoy living here and bringing my kids up here. It’s a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live,” he said.
“I feel as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me.” Still, it seems Prince Harry knows that reconciliation with the Royal Family may require leaving Meghan behind, at least for now.
