Music producer Benny Blanco has offered a candid and heartfelt update on his upcoming wedding with pop star and actress Selena Gomez. Appearing on the latest episode of Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast, the 37-year-old opened up about their engagement and the current status of their wedding plans.
Blanco and Gomez, who got engaged in December 2024, have yet to begin formal planning for their big day. The reason, Benny shared, is quite simple: they’ve both been incredibly busy.
“I really want to take a little break… I’ve been working so much. I’ve realised I haven’t really had much time off in a while,” he said. Describing a desire for rest and relaxation, he added, “I just want to lie in bed and forget what day it is because we’ve been in bed just watching stuff.”
When podcast host Jake Shane asked if lounging in bed all day was his usual routine, Blanco smiled and responded, “Not usually, but with Selena, I can do it all day.”
The Grammy-nominated producer then gushed about his fiancée, saying, “She makes me want to hang out and cuddle, just watch things, just eat food, and have piles of food around us and have the best time ever.”
Despite the joy of their engagement, Benny confirmed that wedding planning has not yet begun. “We’ve both been working so much,” he explained. “We got engaged and then we were filming music videos for our album, then it’s holidays, then right after the holidays we had to start all the promo for our stuff, do that.”
Offering further insight into their packed schedules, he said, “Selena left to film her show Only Murders in the Building, and then I met her, then we hung out for a week, and then right after that it’s promo.”
In addition to his music and relationship, Blanco is currently working on another book, adding even more to his plate. Still, the couple remains enthusiastic about their future. “Even though we didn’t have time to plan out our wedding, we are so excited,” he said.
Looking ahead, Benny hinted that more concrete steps may be coming soon. “I think this summer we’re going to sit down and be like, ‘Okay, what are we doing?’” he remarked.
