Prince Harry Reportedly Slammed Royal Door Shut and It’s ‘Delusional’ to Think His Kids Could Rejoin Monarchy

Prince Harry is facing backlash after reports emerged that he wants his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to retain their HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) titles, keeping open the possibility for them to become working royals in the future. Royal experts are calling the idea unrealistic and “utterly absurd.”

The Duke of Sussex, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020 with his wife, Meghan Markle, and relocated to the United States, reportedly believes his children should have the option to return to royal life if they choose to do so later. However, critics argue that the notion lacks practicality given the family’s circumstances.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digital that the concept reflects a disconnect from reality. “It’s utterly absurd for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to believe their children might one day choose to become working royals,” she said.

“That kind of entitlement isn’t just wishful thinking — it borders on delusion,” Schofield added. “These are American children who’ve been raised oceans away from the monarchy, with no exposure to the customs, culture, or continuity that define royal life.”

Schofield emphasized that the couple’s decision to leave the royal institution—and their subsequent media endeavors—undermines any argument for a return to official duties. “Harry closed that door himself the moment he boarded Tyler Perry’s private jet and handed over his life story to a ghostwriter for Spare,” she stated.

The controversy has also drawn comments from within the royal circles. A friend of Prince William told The Mail that the Prince of Wales would never allow Archie and Lilibet to become working members of the Royal Family.

“William obviously isn’t going to hire Archie and Lilibet,” the source said, dismissing the suggestion outright. They continued, “This is just trolling on the part of Harry and Meghan. It’s actually hilarious that no one even noticed it for ten days, until the Mail did it.”

“The idea that somehow having a vestigial HRH as a baby later entitles you to be a working royal is beyond parody, even for them,” the insider added. The titles of HRH were granted to Archie and Lilibet upon the ascension of King Charles III, in line with royal protocol, but their usage remains a contentious topic.

Though the Sussex children are now technically princes and princesses, the couple previously indicated they would not use the titles regularly. As debates continue over royal roles, titles, and future participation, the notion of a royal return for Harry and Meghan’s children appears increasingly unlikely, at least from the perspective of the palace.
