Prince William has reportedly decided not to involve his nephew and niece—Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet—in the future workings of the Royal Family. As the heir to the throne, the Prince of Wales is said to have no plans to include the children of his estranged brother, Prince Harry, in any future royal roles.
An insider speaking to The Times revealed that William has become noticeably distant when it comes to matters involving his brother’s family. “What has struck me the most recently is that he just doesn’t mention it at all,” the source shared.
“It used to be that the family stuff was taking up a lot of space in his head; it was a very close relationship, and he was very upset.” The insider added that this emotional shift reflects a significant personal development for William.
“But he’s not letting it get to him at all anymore.
It is a change. It’s sad, but it’s a much healthier space for him to be at.” The decision highlights the ongoing strain between the two royal brothers, a relationship that has remained fractured since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior working royals in 2020.

The couple’s departure, often referred to as “Megxit,” marked a turning point for the monarchy and initiated a series of public revelations and criticisms from the Sussexes. Harry and Meghan, who now live in Montecito, California, have made serious allegations against the Royal Family in the years since their departure, including claims of racism toward their then-unborn son, Archie.
They have also criticized the institution for its treatment of Meghan and their lack of support during difficult periods. Following their move to the United States, the couple welcomed their second child, Princess Lilibet, named in honor of Queen Elizabeth II.
Although both children now hold royal titles, they have remained largely outside the royal fold and have had minimal contact with extended family members in the UK. Prince William’s reported stance signals a firm boundary regarding the future structure of the monarchy—one that does not include Prince Harry’s children in an official capacity.
As William prepares for his eventual reign, insiders suggest his focus is now firmly on his immediate family and core royal responsibilities, leaving little room for reconciliation or reintegration of his brother’s family into the royal framework.
