The First Lady recently posted a vibrant update on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, showcasing a colorful and blooming garden that drew comparisons to the grandeur of Versailles.
“The Rose Garden is in full bloom, showcasing a stunning array of vibrant colors and exquisite fragrances,” Melania’s post declared. “Each variety of rose exhibits its unique beauty.”

This latest update has reignited interest in the controversial 2020 Rose Garden renovation, which sparked backlash at the time. Critics accused Trump of stripping away history from the iconic space, originally redesigned by Edith Wilson in 1913 and famously updated by Jacqueline Kennedy in the 1960s, the Irish Star reported
One of the most outspoken critics was presidential historian Michael Beschloss, who harshly criticized the redesign on social media. “Evisceration of White House Rose Garden was completed a year ago this month, and here was the grim result–decades of American history made to disappear,” he tweeted in 2021 alongside a sparse image that has since been removed.

Melania’s team swiftly responded at the time, defending her efforts and disputing Beschloss’s claims. “@BeschlossDC has proven his ignorance by showing a picture of the Rose Garden in its infancy,” a post from her account read. “The Rose Garden is graced with a healthy & colorful blossoming of roses. His misleading information is dishonorable & he should never be trusted as a professional historian.”
