Prince William, the Prince of Wales, is reportedly determined to cut ties with his disgraced uncle, Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, after he ascends to the throne. The decision follows continued controversy surrounding Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, fueled by shocking revelations in Andrew Lownie’s book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York.
In a recent interview with Woman’s Day, Lownie shared how Andrew’s future within the royal family will be bleak once William becomes king. He claimed that Prince William’s first move as monarch will be to rid the royal family of both Andrew and his estranged brother, Prince Harry.
“William will do it alone [get rid of Prince Andrew] and probably get rid of Harry as well,” Lownie stated. He explained that Andrew is aware that he will not receive any favours once William takes the throne. According to Lownie, the Duke of York’s focus has now shifted to his daughters, who hope to become working royals.

Lownie also shared insight into the strained relationship between Prince William and Andrew, revealing that the Prince of Wales, along with his wife, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, purposefully avoids interactions with Andrew.
“William and Kate don’t like him personally and can see the danger he poses to the institution that William will inherit,” Lownie remarked. The royal couple also ensures that their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are kept away from Andrew.
Lownie’s Entitled also sheds light on the ongoing feud between Prince Andrew and Prince William, revealing that Andrew has made “rude and unkind” comments about Kate Middleton. The royal biographer noted, “It surprised me, but people do get jealous.

It is because she is the polar opposite of him – public-spirited, charming, hard-working, popular with the common touch.” Lownie further added, “I’d have thought Prince Andrew would respect William as future king, though, rather than be nasty about his wife.”
The revelations in Entitled have cast a harsh light on Andrew’s strained relationships within the royal family, particularly with William and Kate. As William prepares for his future as king, it seems that the Duke of York’s place within the monarchy will become increasingly uncertain.
