“I Don’t See It Happening Right Now”: Former Royal Butler Weighs In on Prince Harry’s Possible Return to the UK

Speculation about a 2025 reunion between Prince Harry and the royal family has been circulating after the UK Home Office agreed to review the Duke of Sussex’s request for a security risk assessment. The move renewed questions about whether Harry is preparing for a return to Britain after years of distance from royal life.

When Harry stepped back from his royal role, he lost several privileges, including 24-hour armed police protection during visits to the UK. In light of ongoing threats, he recently submitted a request to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, urging her to reconsider his security arrangements.

The review has fueled public curiosity: Could this be the first sign that Harry is ready to reconnect with his family and reclaim aspects of his former life? But according to former royal butler Grant Harrold, a return isn’t likely just yet. Speaking to Express US, Harrold said Harry’s motivation to come back would be deeply personal.

“If Harry ever did return to the U.K., it would be because he misses his old life, his work, his friends, his home, and his family, including his father and possibly even William and Catherine,” Harrold suggested that longing may eventually draw Harry back, but timing remains the real obstacle. For now, he believes the Duke is focused on his established life in California with Meghan Markle and their children.

“I don’t see it happening right now. He’s happily married and has friendships in America,” he said. Harrold added that Harry is tied to ongoing commitments in the United States. “If circumstances allowed, he would probably choose to come back in the future, but he still has a lot of current commitments in the US,” he explained.

The Home Office’s willingness to review Harry’s security concerns is significant, though it does not guarantee any changes. Still, it signals that the issue remains open for discussion, especially as Harry expresses worry about traveling to the UK without adequate protection.

Whether the review ultimately leads to Harry spending more time in Britain remains uncertain. For now, the former royal butler’s assessment suggests that any reunion with the royal family may still be some years away.

While speculation continues, one thing is clear: interest in Harry’s next steps has not waned, and any sign of a potential return will continue to spark conversations among royal watchers.
