Prince Harry’s personal and professional challenges have once again come under scrutiny, this time by British royal expert Hilary Fordwich, who offered a stark assessment of the Duke of Sussex’s life in a recent interview with Fox News Digital.
“Prince Harry’s life is characterized by frustration, lack of clear achievement, and his persistent struggle to carve out anything either lucrative or fulfilling,” Fordwich remarked, pulling no punches as she analyzed the prince’s path since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
Her commentary didn’t stop there. According to Fordwich, many of Harry’s post-royal ventures—ranging from media deals to advocacy work—have failed to deliver long-term success or personal fulfillment. “Nothing he has done has delivered any long-term satisfaction, independence, or been met with any universal support, or he would have stuck with it,” she added.
Harry, 39, and his wife, Meghan Markle, made headlines around the world when they left their royal roles and moved to California, vowing to build a more private and independent life. However, their transition to the U.S. spotlight has proven turbulent. Media partnerships with companies like Netflix and Spotify have drawn mixed reactions, with critics questioning the couple’s long-term vision and consistency.

Fordwich also noted that Harry’s popularity has declined significantly in public opinion polls on both sides of the Atlantic. Once viewed as one of the most relatable and beloved members of the royal family, recent years have seen that image take a sharp hit, particularly in the U.K., where he remains estranged from many family members.
In addition to professional setbacks, Fordwich claims Harry is also personally struggling to adapt to his new life in California. “Those who know him report he’s homesick and feels out of place in California,” she said. The royal commentator also emphasized Harry’s reportedly shrinking social network in the United States, which she says adds to his sense of isolation.
“His social circle in California is limited further, making him miss his old friends, who avoid visiting him, as well as his military connections,” she concluded. While Prince Harry remains active in charitable efforts and continues to advocate for mental health and veteran support, experts like Fordwich argue that he has yet to find a truly fulfilling or stable role outside the royal family. Whether he can rebuild his public image and achieve lasting success in his post-royal life remains to be seen.
