Prince Harry Warned Over Charity Rift as He Weighs Major Next Move

Prince Harry is facing a wave of advice and a warning as speculation swirls about his next move following tensions with the Sentebale charity he co-founded. According to royal expert Jennie Bond, the Duke of Sussex is deeply hurt by recent developments but determined to continue the work he started for vulnerable children in southern Africa.

Speaking to The Mirror, Bond said, “I think Harry will feel very wounded by the way things have turned out, but he has said and I believe him that he will find a different way to help the children of Lesotho and Botswana.”

Sentebale, launched nearly two decades ago by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, has been one of the Duke’s most personal causes. The charity focuses on supporting children and young people affected by HIV and AIDS, a mission closely tied to the legacy of Princess Diana, who campaigned tirelessly to raise global awareness of the epidemic.

Bond cautioned that it would be “unwise” for Harry to start a rival organization in the wake of the reported fallout, but she also expressed confidence in his commitment. “I’m sure he will find a way to help the cause and to raise funds,” she said. “Sentebale was a passion for Harry and one that was closely associated with his mother, who campaigned so hard to make the world understand more about AIDS and HIV.”

The comments came shortly after Harry’s spokesperson addressed the situation in a statement to Sky News. “The Duke remains absolutely committed to continuing the work he started, supporting the children and young people of Lesotho and Botswana, nearly 20 years ago,” the spokesperson confirmed.

However, they also made it clear that nothing has been finalized. “In what form that support takes, NO decisions have been made,” the statement read. “All options remain on the table; whether that be starting a new charity OR working to support pre-existing charities operating in the same sector in the region.”

For now, royal watchers are left wondering whether Harry will try to mend fences with Sentebale or branch out with a new philanthropic initiative. The stakes are high, both for the causes he supports and for his personal reputation in the global charity sector.

Harry’s involvement with Sentebale has been a cornerstone of his public work, particularly in the years before stepping back from royal duties in 2020. Since then, his philanthropic focus has expanded to include mental health advocacy, environmental issues, and support for veterans. Still, his African charity work has remained one of his most enduring passions.

Whether he chooses to continue under Sentebale’s umbrella or forge a new path, those close to the situation say his commitment to the children of Lesotho and Botswana is unwavering.
