Prince Harry is under scrutiny once again—this time for what one expert calls a deliberate attempt to emotionally pressure King Charles in a public and unavoidable way.
The claim comes from renowned clinical psychiatrist Dr. Raj Persaud, who weighed in on the Duke of Sussex’s most recent public statements, as well as his emotional demeanor during a BBC interview following a court ruling against him. Speaking with Express UK, Dr. Persaud offered insight into the psychological undertones of Harry’s ongoing conflicts with the Royal Family.

“My instinct, given that one of the Duke’s many laments is his ongoing estrangement from the Royals,” Dr. Persaud said, suggesting that Harry’s latest comments may have been less about transparency and more about strategy.
According to the psychiatrist, Harry’s public airing of grievances may be a calculated message to King Charles and other senior royals.
“With other avenues of communication apparently cut off – he claimed the King will not take his calls – this was quite possibly a bid to garner attention on the public stage in a manner they simply cannot ignore, quite possibly a form of emotional blackmail,” Dr. Persaud noted.
He further implied that Harry’s approach carries an implicit threat—that if ignored, the Duke will continue to escalate his public criticism in the years ahead.

Dr. Persaud also analyzed the Duke’s body language during a recent interview, particularly in light of Harry’s legal loss in the UK over his demand for state-funded security during visits. The Duke was visibly shaken after his appeal was dismissed, having argued he faced serious threats and needed protection even as a non-working royal.
“The Duke appeared visibly shocked after losing his legal appeal,” Dr. Persaud observed. “His emotions were on display. The Duke appeared to have been caught off balance by the result,” he added, suggesting Harry may have been “in denial that his protestation of ‘inferior treatment’ had not convinced the senior judge.”

The ruling marked another chapter in Harry’s ongoing legal and personal battles since stepping back from royal duties in 2020. The Duke has publicly lamented his estrangement from his family and spoken about the emotional toll it has taken.
Dr. Persaud concluded with a broader criticism—not just of Harry but also of the Royal Family’s inability to find a resolution: “This is a battle he has lost before,” he said, pointing to a recurring inability of all sides to “move on.”
As tensions between the Sussexes and the monarchy continue, experts say this latest development only deepens the emotional divide.
