Prince Harry has issued a sharp response to reports suggesting he was attempting to fuel divisions within the royal family following his private meeting with King Charles earlier this month. Speculation swirled that the Duke of Sussex was deliberately trying to create tension between his father and his brother, Prince William.
Some outlets even suggested the meeting was part of “concerted efforts” to cause a rift between the monarch and the heir to the throne. The Sun further claimed that there had been “high-level talks” between palace officials and representatives in Montecito about arranging a joint public engagement for King Charles and Harry. But insiders on both sides were quick to dismiss the suggestion.
In a firm statement, Harry’s spokesman said: “Categorically not. Harry is not trying to drive a wedge between the Prince of Wales and the King.” A source close to Prince William echoed that denial, describing the reports of conflict as “rubbish.”

Another insider, speaking from Harry’s perspective, insisted that the Duke of Sussex remains focused on reconciliation with his family rather than division. The denial comes at a sensitive time for the royals. Prince William was photographed at Aberdeen Airport on Tuesday following his joint engagement in Southport with the Princess of Wales.
According to The Telegraph, William is expected to spend a few informal days with King Charles in Scotland. Notably, the meeting is said to have been arranged privately without the involvement of senior palace staff.
During their time together, father and son are believed to have discussed a range of issues beyond Harry’s recent visit. Reports suggest conversations also touched on the ongoing controversy surrounding Prince Andrew and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, particularly in relation to their ties with Jeffrey Epstein.

While speculation about royal rifts has become common, those close to both Harry and William stress that recent narratives exaggerate tensions. For Harry, the latest reports were serious enough to warrant a rare public statement, underscoring his wish to challenge claims that risk further complicating already delicate family relations.
As the royal family continues to navigate both public and private challenges, Harry’s message was clear: reconciliation, not division, remains his goal.
