Speculation is growing around whether Meghan Markle could be planning a return to the UK, just as Prince Harry prepares for a high-profile trip to London tied to both legal and security matters. The Duke of Sussex is expected to arrive in the British capital next week for a court hearing connected to his case against the publishers of the Daily Mail.
At the same time, he is awaiting a crucial decision from the UK Home Office regarding his request for taxpayer-funded police protection. The issue of security has long been central to the couple’s relationship with the UK. Harry has previously made it clear that he would not bring his family back to Britain unless his security arrangements were reinstated.
Despite that stance, rumors have been circulating that Meghan could be considering a return for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. Since marrying Prince Harry, she has not missed the international sporting event, which has become closely associated with the Duke’s public work and legacy. The idea of her attending a future UK-based Games has reignited conversation about whether the Sussexes might soften their position on visits to Britain.
Fueling the debate, Daily Mail columnist Sarah Vine recently suggested that Meghan’s motivations for a return could be tied to public relevance. Vine argued that Meghan will return to the UK as the “royal fairy dust is finally wearing off” and she is seeking to maintain her profile on both sides of the Atlantic.

Not everyone believes a UK appearance would benefit the Sussexes. PR expert Mayah Riaz offered a more cautious take, warning that such a move could easily backfire. Speaking to The Mirror, Riaz said Meghan’s influence has “always been strongest in the US, where the royal association already works as shorthand for global status”. She added that a visit to Britain would “likely reignite old narratives rather than create new ones”, which in turn could complicate Prince Harry’s already delicate trip.
For now, there are signs that Meghan is choosing to stay out of the spotlight when it comes to royal drama. Instead of engaging with speculation, she has been sharing glimpses of a quieter, more grounded routine. The As Ever founder was recently spotted at a low-key gathering with friends, playing board games and giving off a relaxed, unbothered energy.
She has also continued to build momentum around her lifestyle brand. Meghan recently launched a new collection for As Ever, which includes a leather bookmark aimed at her growing customer base. Reports of ongoing business expansion suggest she is focused on strengthening her brand before making any major public appearances abroad.
While rumors of a UK return continue to circulate, Meghan’s recent actions point toward a different priority. Rather than stepping back into the British spotlight, she appears intent on shaping her future on her own terms, with business ventures and personal projects taking center stage for now.
