Meghan Markle has officially released the final episode of her podcast series, Confessions of a Female Founder, closing the season with a revealing conversation alongside SPANX founder and billionaire entrepreneur Sara Blakely. The eighth and concluding episode sees the Duchess of Sussex and Blakely “get real about betting on yourself, and building bold business strategies.”
Since its launch on April 8, the weekly series has spotlighted the journeys of pioneering female entrepreneurs, with a new episode airing every Tuesday. Blakely, who famously turned a $5,000 investment into a global shapewear empire, shared her experience of starting over—this time with her new venture, a sneaker line called Sneex. “I had never taken a business class, told Daily Express.

I didn’t come from fashion or retail,” said the former fax machine salesperson, reflecting on her early days before founding SPANX in 1998. Now worth an estimated $1.3 billion, Blakely opened up about the mindset and resilience required to build a brand from scratch—insights that resonated deeply with Meghan, who is carving her own path in the lifestyle space with her brand As Ever.
Last week’s episode featured Cassandra Morales Thurswell, the founder of viral beauty brand Kitsch. Meghan and Cassandra discussed the importance of grit, intentional design, and “a scrappy mindset” in turning a small idea into a global success.

In her chat with Thurswell, Meghan reflected on how her personal passions have shaped her business ethos. “Also down to the core of what you have always liked doing,” she said. “So you look at the evolution of that, and for me, I have been making preserves, I’ve been giving fruit baskets, I’ve loved to garden.”
She went on to describe how those simple acts of kindness and connection are now embedded in the DNA of her business. “Before I had a house and a garden like this, in my bungalow, I had a lemon tree,” she said. “In a way, all of these years later, because that’s been the undercurrent of how I like to show up for people [and] to have that still be ingrained in how I show up through the business…”
In recent months, Meghan has sent handmade baskets filled with products from As Ever to influencers and celebrity friends, demonstrating her signature hands-on, thoughtful approach. As Confessions of a Female Founder comes to a close, Meghan leaves behind a series that highlights not just entrepreneurial grit but also the personal values that drive women in business forward.
