Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were spotted spending time with their longtime friend Serena Williams during a recent trip to New York City. According to People magazine, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined the tennis legend for lunch at Soho House on Friday, October 10, 2025.
The outing came just a day after Harry and Meghan attended a major event in the city, where they were honored for their advocacy on mental health. The couple received the Humanitarian of the Year Award at Project Healthy Minds’ third annual World Mental Health Day Gala on Thursday evening.
In a joint statement following the ceremony, the Duke and Duchess reflected on their ongoing efforts to support mental health initiatives, especially among young people. “Working with families and young people to prioritize safety online has been some of the most meaningful work of our lives,” they said.

“As parents ourselves, we have been moved to action by the power of their stories and are honored to support them.” They continued, “We’re proud to be long-time partners of Project Healthy Minds as we work together to shine a light on what remains one of the most pressing issues of our time.”
The couple’s partnership with the nonprofit organization reflects their commitment to promoting digital well-being and mental health awareness, both of which have been central to their philanthropic work through the Archewell Foundation.
Their lunch with Serena Williams also underscored their enduring friendship with the tennis superstar. Meghan first met Williams at the Super Bowl in 2010, but it wasn’t until they crossed paths again in 2014 that they became close friends. Since then, Williams has been a consistent supporter of Meghan, even attending her royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.

The trio’s outing at Soho House, a favorite spot for celebrities and creatives, appeared to be a relaxed moment amid a busy week for the royal couple. Both Meghan and Serena have previously spoken about their shared values around motherhood, ambition, and advocacy — topics that often come up when the two friends reconnect.
For Harry and Meghan, their New York trip blended work and friendship — celebrating their humanitarian achievements while taking time to connect with those who’ve supported them along the way.
