A new report by celebrity journalist Rob Shuter has shed light on Meghan Markle’s alleged behavior behind the scenes, revealing what insiders describe as a pattern of demanding conduct and intense control over her public image.
Published on Shuter’s Substack, the report paints a tense picture of working with the Duchess of Sussex, citing multiple unnamed sources who claimed that Meghan’s high expectations and constant need for approval created a difficult work environment.
According to the report, one insider said, “She’s impossible. Every headline, every comma — Meghan has to approve it.” The source added that anyone who dared to challenge her direction risked losing their position. “If you push back against Meghan, you’re gone,” the insider claimed.

Another staff member recounted what they called “Midnight Meltdowns,” describing late-night calls demanding last-minute changes. “She’d call at 1 a.m. asking for rewrites or edits,” the source said. Others recalled moments of frustration over her appearance at public events, including one instance now being referred to as the “Red Carpet Rage.”
“She yelled that bad lighting made her look like a politician, not a princess,” one person alleged. While Meghan is said to be exacting and intense about her image, sources described Prince Harry as her opposite. “Harry tries to play peacemaker,” one insider told Shuter. “But no one can keep up with her expectations. It’s not a PR problem — it’s a Meghan problem.”
The report claims that Meghan’s insistence on overseeing every detail of her projects has contributed to ongoing tension within her team. Former staffers reportedly described working under her as “emotionally exhausting,” with some saying they struggled to maintain the pace she demanded.
Despite the negative accounts, the Duchess’s supporters have often defended her as a hardworking and meticulous professional who is deeply committed to her causes. They argue that her high standards reflect her determination to control her narrative after years of intense media scrutiny.

Neither Meghan nor Prince Harry has commented publicly on the claims in Shuter’s report. The couple has largely remained focused on their media and philanthropic work since stepping back from royal duties in 2020 and relocating to California.
The latest allegations add to a growing list of reports about Meghan’s difficult relationship with former palace staff and public relations teams. Whether the claims are exaggerated or accurate, they once again place the Duchess under a harsh spotlight — one that continues to follow her years after leaving royal life behind.
