Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix Partnership Will Not Be Renewed

Netflix has reportedly decided not to renew its multi-million dollar partnership with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, bringing an end to a high-profile collaboration that once promised to redefine royal storytelling on the streaming platform.

According to multiple sources, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s deal with Netflix—set to conclude later this year—will not be extended, signaling a major blow to the couple’s media ambitions.

While Season 2 of Meghan’s lifestyle series is still expected to air, insiders claim it will likely be the pair’s final offering on the platform. A source told RadarOnline, “Meghan had everything going for her — name, platform, and publicity,” but added, “the viewing numbers for the show were dismal. This deal is dead.”

The end of the Netflix contract could pose serious financial challenges for the Sussexes, who stepped away from royal duties in 2020 and have since relied heavily on commercial partnerships to support their lifestyle. “Meghan and Harry rely on this deal to sustain upkeep on their $29 million mansion and their huge range of staff,” the source said. “Without it, and without massively curbing their spending, they could be headed for bankruptcy.”

Initially, Netflix’s deal with the royal couple generated global buzz. Their debut documentary, Harry & Meghan, drew significant attention and viewership. They followed it with titles like Heart of Invictus and Polo, but the momentum appears to have faded.

“There was initial curiosity about them, but that’s evaporated,” a Netflix insider shared. “They have gone from buzzy to background noise.” The shift in perception within Netflix has reportedly been dramatic. Once seen as headline-grabbing figures with potential to shape cultural narratives, the Sussexes are now viewed as an underperforming investment.

“Bosses see commissioning any more content from this pair as a total waste of money,” the source explained. With Netflix no longer interested in further collaborations, the couple’s media future remains uncertain. The insider noted that executives at the streaming platform are simply “waiting for the credits to roll on this unfortunate chapter.”

The decision underscores the challenge faced by public figures seeking long-term success in the entertainment industry, especially when initial curiosity fades. As of now, there has been no official comment from Netflix or the Sussexes on the reported decision.
