Insiders speaking to the Examiner alleged the couple believes the monarchy’s firmer stance may eventually extend to them.
According to the report, the Sussexes worry that Archie and Lilibet could lose their titles if the royal family decides to take a tougher approach toward members who step outside traditional royal expectations. The source described the couple as “rightfully terrified the royals’ tough new stance will see them booted from the fold and stripped of their royal titles.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton are said to have played a significant role in the decision to remove Andrew’s titles. With William next in line to the throne, insiders claim he would face no obstacles in taking what one source described as a “nuclear option” against Meghan and Harry, should he choose to follow through on similar action.
The report suggests Harry has attempted to repair his strained relationship with his brother.
