Royal Expert Warns King Charles and Prince William Against Welcoming Harry and Meghan Back

King Charles and Prince William have been warned against any formal reconciliation with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, with royal commentator Adam McLeod describing the idea as “fantastic and absurd.” The warning came amid ongoing reports about potential peace talks between King Charles and Harry’s close aides.

McLeod, speaking to Radar Online, emphasized that allowing a formal return for the California-based couple would severely undermine the monarchy. He dismissed any possibility of Harry and Meghan rejoining the royal family, arguing that their return would ignore the “vast and irretrievable” damage caused by their decision to step down from their senior royal roles in 2020.

“I can think of no more crazed or appalling idea than that they should be welcomed home to this country, to the bosom of the Royal Family, to the renewed expense of the privy and indeed the public purse – and, the very idea is fantastic and absurd – to renewed royal duties,” McLeod stated.

His remarks came at a time when rumors about peace talks between King Charles and Harry’s representatives were circulating. McLeod, however, argued that the monarch must prioritize the survival of the monarchy over personal sentiment. He pointed to historical precedents where previous monarchs had done the same.

“The first rule of monarchy is not glitter, ceremonial, nor influence. It is survival,” McLeod noted, stressing that the survival of the institution should be the monarchy’s primary focus.

The royal expert also urged King Charles to remain firm in his stance, regardless of personal emotions. “Charles III must let the King rule him in this, and not the man,” he advised.

As King Charles continues to face significant challenges, including ongoing health issues, McLeod’s warning highlights the difficult balance the monarch must maintain between personal feelings and his responsibility to the monarchy.
