King Charles ’does not trust’ Prince Harry as Reconciliation hopes go Down

Prince Harry has penned an emotional letter praising a group of British veterans for their extraordinary achievement of traveling from London to Mount Everest and back in just seven days, a record-setting mission aimed at raising funds and awareness for military charities.

In a heartfelt message addressed to Veterans Minister Al Carns and former Special Forces soldiers Kevin Godlington, Garth Miller, and Anthony “Staz” Stazicker, the Duke of Sussex commended the group for their courage, endurance, and commitment to a deeply personal cause. “Wow, what a remarkable accomplishment. What you have done is nothing short of extraordinary,” Harry wrote.

“Reaching the top of the world is an immense physical and mental challenge in its own right, but doing it with purpose to honour and support military families elevates this feat to another level entirely. I take my hat off to you all,” he continued. The Duke, who served in the British Army for a decade and has long championed the welfare of veterans and military families, emphasized how meaningful the group’s mission is to him personally.

“You’ve pushed the boundaries of human endurance while shining a light on a cause that is deeply important to me — the well-being of our service families, especially children and young people who’ve experienced loss. For that, I am hugely grateful,” he said. “You’ve not only conquered Everest, you’ve brought attention to the sacrifices of our Armed Forces in a way few others could.”

He concluded the letter with a warm sign-off: “Well done, lads. All the best. Harry,” and signed it with his title, “Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.” The letter was released shortly after People magazine reported on the continuing strain between Harry and his royal relatives.

The publication claims there is little to no chance of reconciliation between Harry and King Charles, particularly following Harry’s recent BBC interview. “It wasn’t meant to be an attack, but it would be seen as one,” said royal author Valentine Low, referencing the interview. “It makes Charles reach out even harder.”

Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith added that despite any underlying desire to reunite, trust remains a significant barrier. “King Charles and Prince William don’t trust Harry and Meghan with any kind of confidential conversation,” she said.

As tensions persist within the royal family, Harry’s unwavering dedication to veterans and military families continues to serve as a cornerstone of his public work and a reflection of his values, separate from palace politics.
