Queen Camilla is reportedly frustrated and upset after learning that King Charles has aligned himself with the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, on a sensitive family matter. According to new reports, Camilla is unhappy that the King continues to lean on Kate’s guidance, especially when it comes to dealing with Prince Harry.
The royal family has already spent the past year navigating major upheavals. They have dealt with the fallout from Prince Andrew’s removal from public life and the constant attention surrounding him. There was also the unexpected reunion between Prince Harry and King Charles in September, which many viewed as a hopeful step toward repairing the fractured relationship.
But while some saw the reunion as progress, not everyone in the palace is pleased. Camilla, in particular, is believed to be angry about how the situation has been handled. Reports suggest that Kate has been quietly helping mediate communication between Charles and Harry, and that the King has encouraged her to keep the peace and help ease tensions with William as well.
A report from Heat World claims Kate has always kept a soft spot for Harry and wants to see him reconnect with the family. Charles has shared that hope, and Kate’s involvement was meant to support that effort. Camilla, however, sees things very differently. She reportedly believes Kate’s approach was “naïve and reckless” and insists the situation has “gone on far too long and needs to stop.”
Her frustration is intensified by lingering resentment over Harry’s portrayal of her in his memoir, Spare, where he referred to her as his “wicked stepmother.” According to the outlet, the Queen Consort is “disgusted” by what she views as her husband’s “soft stance” toward Harry. She wants Charles to take a firm approach, mirroring the one Prince William has taken by refusing contact.
Meanwhile, Charles is said to be weary of the ongoing disagreements, especially as he continues cancer treatment. An insider told the outlet, “The King just wants everyone to get along, but the mere mention of Harry and Meghan seems to get people’s blood boiling.”
Despite the tension, Charles continues to value Kate deeply. Their shared health battles have only strengthened their bond, and he appreciates the role she plays within the family. While he loves Camilla and even ordered Harry and Meghan’s eviction from Frogmore Cottage after the memoir, he now feels a change in tone is needed.
For Charles and Kate, the priority remains maintaining some form of peace within the family, even if not everyone agrees with that approach.
