Prince Harry might be putting his royal past behind him for good, at least that’s what royal expert Jennie Bond seems to think. Speaking to The Mirror, Bond reflected on a recent post from Meghan Markle that shows Harry walking hand-in-hand with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and suggested it was more than just a sweet family photo.
“I think the recent post of Harry walking into the distance with his two children suggested that he’s walking away from his old life once and for all,” she said. “And I very much doubt that there will be anniversary wishes winging their way from the UK to California.”

Her comments come just after Harry lost his legal appeal to keep taxpayer-funded security while in the UK—a blow that many see as another clear sign his chapter with royal life is well and truly closed.

Bond believes that despite the tension and public scrutiny, Harry and Meghan’s relationship has only strengthened under pressure. “I think that after all they have been through – however it all came about and whoever you might think is at fault – it has probably made them stronger as a couple,” she added.
“They have certainly isolated themselves from their respective families, so, having burned so many bridges, they must rely ever more heavily on one another. That is quite a weight of responsibility to bear, but I’m sure they both feel that it makes it even more imperative to work hard at their marriage and make it a success.”
It seems the Sussexes are keeping their focus forward rather than looking back. According to Bond, rehashing the family feud isn’t something they dwell on. “I don’t suppose they waste many hours on discussing the feud with their respective families,” she said. “The crises come and go – but they have their love, their children, their fabulous home, the freedom they craved, and Meghan’s burgeoning portfolio of new projects to keep them busy.”

Reflecting on how quickly things have shifted, Bond noted, “It also seems quite extraordinary that it’s only seven years since Meghan walked up that aisle and took her place in the Royal family. It was a day filled with love and hope, and she seemed to represent exactly what a modern monarchy needed. So much has happened since that day – and most of it makes very depressing reading.”
