Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly clash over plans to spend time in the UK

Tension is reportedly growing between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as the couple face disagreements about where they want to build their future. Sources say the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at odds over Harry’s desire to spend more time in the United Kingdom.

According to an insider who spoke to RadarOnline, Harry has recently been “talking about spending more time in the U.K., possibly having a second home base there.” The Duke’s renewed interest in returning home reportedly intensified after his September visit to King Charles, who is battling cancer.

However, Meghan is said to be “shocked” that her husband is even considering moving back after everything they went through when stepping down as senior royals in 2020. “She’s worked hard to rebuild their lives in America, and she doesn’t understand why he’d want to return,” the source said.

The insider added that the pair currently “want different things.” While Harry has been eager to reconnect with his family and repair strained relationships, Meghan reportedly feels safer and more settled in California.

“Harry can be quite stubborn, but Meghan isn’t one to back down either,” the source noted. “If this disagreement can’t be resolved, people around them fear it could lead to some explosive fights and maybe even divorce.”

Harry’s efforts to reconcile with his family have reportedly received support from some royal insiders and even former critics, which has given him hope. “It gives him hope that perhaps he will be welcomed back into the royal fold,” the insider explained.

Meghan, meanwhile, has not returned to the U.K. since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022. She and Harry have built a life in Montecito, California, where they live with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Now, the Duchess is said to be “upset” over Harry’s suggestion that their children could spend more time in Britain. She reportedly believes the U.K. is “not safe” for them and prefers to raise the children in the United States, where “they have a sheltered life, good schools, friends, and protection.”

“No one is denying Harry and Meghan love each other,” the source added. “But they don’t see eye to eye. She’s all for Harry making up with his family, as long as they keep their life in California and raise their children here.” The insider concluded, “But she wants the royals to stay away from her and her children.”
