Andrew Reportedly Leaves Royal Lodge for Sandringham as Locals React to His Quiet Relocation

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has reportedly left his Windsor property and relocated to Sandringham in what is being described as an attempt to begin a quieter life away from public attention.

The former Duke of York has temporarily moved into a smaller residence at Wood Farm while renovation work continues at Marsh Farm, which is expected to become his long-term home. The move comes after Andrew was forced out of Royal Lodge, a property long considered his preferred residence.

Now, locals near the Sandringham estate are speaking out about the controversial royal’s arrival, offering mixed reactions to his relocation.

Residents told Hello! that opinion in the village is sharply divided. One local explained: “It’s a 50/50 split, some are disgusted with his potential behaviour, but others say he hasn’t been convicted and he’s innocent until proven guilty. I sit somewhere in the middle.

“I think it would be better for him to be brought in [by the police] if he is innocent, as he says,” he told Hello!. Others living nearby questioned whether Andrew’s new situation truly reflected the reported exile. Several locals suggested that even in a smaller home, he remains surrounded by privilege.

One visitor to the estate, 83-year-old Abraham Bruin, expressed surprise at the move and what it represents. He said, “I’m a little bit flabbergasted myself. If he’s an outcast and living on the estate, he’s not an outcast, is he?”

Another resident voiced frustration at what they see as Andrew returning to a comfortable lifestyle despite the scrutiny surrounding him. “Really, he’s going back to luxury, isn’t he? He’s being waited on hand and foot,” the person said.

The presence of media has also reportedly caused tension in the community, with villagers concerned that the quiet area is being disrupted by outside attention. “The press is all down there. The villagers don’t like that. It’s a quiet village,” said the third one.

Some locals also questioned the home’s location, noting that Wood Farm offers little privacy due to its proximity to the road. Residents reportedly said the property is “too close to the road” and that a home, ”out in the woods that’s surrounded by trees and no other houses… would have been better.”

Andrew’s departure from his Windsor residence reportedly came last week, following renewed attention tied to the release of additional Epstein-related files. The latest Development has once again placed him under public scrutiny, adding to the pressure on his already damaged public image.

While the royal has largely stayed out of the spotlight in recent years, the move to Sandringham appears unlikely to quiet public interest, especially with media attention now following him into a new community.
