Trump’s Allies Secretly Plotting to Replace Him? Political Expert Drops Stunning Prediction About VP J.D. Vance Taking Over

Political commentator Adam Boulton has speculated that Vice President JD Vance could potentially replace President Donald Trump if the President’s erratic policy shifts become too unpredictable, according to a recent report by Irish Star.

Trump’s drastic and sudden policy changes may alarm even his most dedicated allies, particularly if the United States faces consequences that could have been prevented. Since beginning his second presidential term in January 2025, Trump has enacted numerous controversial policies, often working closely with his ally, billionaire Elon Musk.

Notable actions during Trump’s initial three months in office include imposing tariffs on Canada and Mexico, renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, temporarily halting aid to Ukraine, and deporting hundreds of Venezuelan migrants to El Salvador.

These moves, according to Boulton, could strain Trump’s relationships within his own administration, prompting allies to consider Vice President Pence as a more stable option. In an opinion piece published in The i, Boulton explained, “Should Trump become more of an unpredictable liability – tanking the economy with tariffs, say, or pushing America into an armed confrontation with an ally – then Republicans, including cabinet members, may decide that his comparatively squeaky-clean family-oriented VP is a better bet to keep them in power.”

However, questions remain regarding whether Vice President Vance would truly represent a more stabilizing force, given his history of shifting political allegiances at a time when the U.S. appears to be moving toward authoritarian governance. Staffan Lindberg, lead political scientist at V-Dem, warned in a recent report, “The USA now seems to be heading toward a transition away from democracy under President Trump. In my view, the reverberations of this are and will be enormous across the world.”

Tara Setmayer, former Republican communications director, further expressed concern to the Guardian, stating, “We are approaching Defcon 1 for our democracy and a lot of people in the media and the opposition leadership don’t seem to be communicating that to the American people. That is the biggest danger of the moment we’re in now: the normalization of it.”

Trump’s recent decisions include pausing federal grants and loans to align with administration priorities, creating a new advisory body led by Musk to reduce government costs, and enacting controversial immigration and gender directives. The administration also postponed a ban on TikTok, requiring new American ownership within 75 days, per BBC.
