Bettina Anderson, the 38-year-old girlfriend of Donald Trump Jr., reportedly had her sights set on another high-profile figure before entering into a relationship with the president’s son. According to The Daily Mail, Anderson was “going for Elon Musk” before she began dating Trump Jr., 47, more than a year ago.
Sources claimed that the Palm Beach socialite and model initially saw Trump Jr. as a way to get closer to Musk, who at the time was a close friend and adviser to President Donald Trump. “She told me she wanted to have one of Elon’s babies and she thought going after Don Jr would help her get close to Elon,” a friend of Anderson’s told the outlet.
“She told several of us this was her ultimate goal.” Musk, 54, has made headlines for his goal of fathering a “legion” of children to combat declining global birth rates. The billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX is publicly known to have at least 14 children with four women, including musician Grimes.
Trump and Musk’s friendship, which had cooled after public disagreements in mid-2024, reportedly rekindled after they reunited at Charlie Kirk’s funeral in September. Anderson, a Columbia University graduate who calls herself a “housewife with no chores,” was first seen near Trump Jr. and his then-fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle at the July 2024 Republican National Convention.
Just a month later, Trump Jr. was photographed kissing Anderson while still believed to be engaged to Guilfoyle, 56. The photos caused an uproar, particularly after Guilfoyle—also known as the ex-wife of California Governor Gavin Newsom—was nominated by Donald Trump to serve as U.S. ambassador to Greece on December 10. The appointment came only hours after images of Trump Jr. celebrating Anderson’s birthday surfaced.
Within a week, reports confirmed that Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle had officially split. Trump Jr. and Anderson now reside in his $10 million waterfront mansion in Jupiter, Florida, a home he once shared with Guilfoyle. “Kim isn’t too happy about this,” a source told The Daily Mail. “She is worried about the stuff she’s leaving behind. The last thing she wants to do is to see Bettina using something she owns.”
Despite their relationship, Anderson reportedly remains unwelcome in Trump family circles. According to Mediaite, insiders warned early in the year that “Donald Trump does not approve of his son’s association with Bettina,” describing her as “a liability rather than an asset.”
Anderson, the youngest daughter of Palm Beach financier Harry Loy Anderson Jr., has long been a fixture in elite social circles, previously linked to billionaire Ken Griffin and Wrigley heir William “Beau” Wrigley Jr.
