In a recent reveal, ex-US President Donald Trump has elaborated on his strategy to halt the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine within a day if he were to resume office, as reported by the Independent. This declaration follows his previous assertion that he could terminate the conflict in a brief span, the Independent reported.

During a conversation on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo on July 16, Trump expounded upon his earlier statement. He expressed confidence in his capacity to mediate discussions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, attributing this to his amicable ties with both leaders.

He shared his close familiarity with both Zelensky and Putin, boasting a highly congenial relationship with each. He expressed his plan to urge Zelensky to reach an agreement and warn Putin that failure to negotiate would result in increased support for Ukraine from the US, thereby ending the war.

Trump also offered his thoughts on world leaders, describing them as intelligent, and criticized his successor, President Joe Biden, for his alleged inability to negotiate with them.

In a sharp criticism of Biden, he praised world leaders, including France’s Emmanuel Macron and Russia’s Vladimir Putin, for their acuity, resilience, and generally ruthless disposition. He lamented about the current presidency under Biden, calling it “the most dangerous time in the history of our country.”

As per Metro, In response to queries about his specific plan, Trump referred to an incident involving Zelensky, who he called “very honorable”. He brought up a July 2019 phone call where Trump reportedly proposed a ‘quid pro quo’ agreement, pressing Zelensky to fuel conspiracy theories about his 2020 competitor, Biden, in return for US aid, as stated by Metro. According to Trump, Zelensky was unaware of the implications of the conversation.
