In a speech that touched upon both family and his political resurgence, Donald Trump playfully attributed his teenage son Barron Trump’s remarkable height of 6 feet 7 inches to the nourishing home-cooked meals prepared by Melania Trump’s late mother.

This light-hearted remark was made during a historic night where Trump once again dominated the Iowa GOP contest, solidifying his position as the clear Republican frontrunner, only a year after announcing his bid to reclaim the White House, as reported by the Daily Mail. During his victory celebration, Trump took the stage to express his gratitude to his children and extended family. He gave special recognition to his teenage son Barron, who he humorously mentioned was “watching on TV.”

Trump then spoke about Barron’s relationship with Melania’s late mother, Amalija Knavs. He quipped, “Boy, did she take care of Barron. That’s how he got so tall, he only ate her food,” jokingly attributing Barron’s towering height to his grandmother’s culinary skills.

The audience responded with laughter as Trump went on to share his hopes that Barron might pursue a career in basketball due to his impressive height.

“I said, ‘You’re gonna be a basketball player.’ He said, ‘Well, I like soccer, Dad, actually.’ I thought… at your height, I like basketball better, but you can’t talk them into everything,” Trump remarked, acknowledging Barron’s preference for soccer and affectionately referring to him as a “special boy.”

Despite being just 17 years old and standing at a towering 6 feet 7 inches, Barron is known for his enthusiasm for soccer and previously played with DC United’s youth academy during his father’s tenure in office.

Despite the harsh Arctic conditions and blizzards that battered Iowa, Donald Trump emerged as the victor in the Iowa caucuses on Monday night. Cable news networks and The Associated Press declared Trump the winner early in the evening, which led to protests from other Republican candidates.

Despite wind chills as low as minus 35 degrees and frostbite warnings, thousands of devoted Trump supporters braved the weather to cast their votes at precincts throughout the state.

The early declaration of victory, which sparked criticism from rival campaigns, solidified Trump’s position as the undisputed frontrunner for the 2024 GOP nomination as he pursues what could be a historic political comeback.
