Jacob Chansley, best known as the “Q-Anon Shaman” from his prominent role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol Attack, has taken on a new persona online.

Nearly two and a half years later, he has swapped his bison headdress for hastily-applied Joker makeup, attempting rather unconvincing impressions of Heath Ledger’s iconic portrayal of the Batman villain.

Chansley has become the latest figure in the world of conspiracy on Twitter. After being released early from an Arizona federal prison in March, following a guilty plea for obstructing an official proceeding, Chansley has used his newfound internet access to capitalize on his viral notoriety.

He has taken to Twitter with a slew of new conspiracy theories. In an eight-minute video posted earlier this month, Chansley clumsily cosplayed as The Dark Knight Rises villain.

He rambled about a supposed “dinosaur circus” in Washington, superimposing Senators’ heads on various dinosaur bodies to illustrate his points.

He criticized politicians for their alleged self-enrichment while decrying the plight of American families, issues like taxation, disease, and wars, and the purported influence of the “new world order agenda.”

However, his strange Joker act was not a one-off occurrence. Days later, Chansley reappeared in full Joker makeup for a nearly four-minute rant, primarily targeting the media.

He called for accountability from the CIA and vowed to “expose their lies,” although the specifics remained unclear.

While Chansley’s political views may be widely criticized, he has certainly mastered one thing – the knowledge that we indeed live in a society where online personas and strange performances can draw attention.
