Mike Huckabee Predicts Trump Will Do Something of Biblical Proportion with Gaza

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, President Donald Trump’s nominee for U.S. ambassador to Israel, suggested on Sunday that Trump would take unprecedented action in Gaza, potentially involving U.S. “ownership” of the Palestinian territory.

During an interview on Fox News Sunday, host Maria Bartiromo asked Huckabee if he believed “we could see the United States have an ownership piece of Gaza.” “I don’t think we know,” Huckabee responded. “A lot of people forget that Gaza was once a place inhabited by both Jews and Palestinians until 2005 when Ariel Sharon decided to give it all away.”

He linked Israel’s 2005 withdrawal from Gaza to the October 7th Hamas attack, implying that Trump’s leadership could have led to a different outcome. “President Trump did something bold. He looked into the future and said kind of a what if. We don’t know exactly what might happen in Gaza, but here’s what could have happened in Gaza,” Huckabee said.

“Gaza could have been Singapore. Instead, Hamas turned it into Haiti.” Huckabee further argued that Trump was responsible for maintaining peace in the region, though some foreign policy experts attribute escalating tensions to Trump’s 2018 decision to withdraw the U.S. from the Iran nuclear deal, which they argue increased hostilities between Hamas and Israel.

“The only time there was peace between Israel and the Palestinians was when Trump was in office,” Huckabee claimed. Expressing confidence in Trump’s return to power, Huckabee praised his unconventional approach to foreign policy.

“And I’m very optimistic that with his leadership, his bold and innovative thinking, he doesn’t think like the other politicians and diplomats have thought,” he said. “I heard somebody say he’s thinking outside the box. That’s ridiculous. He’s not thinking outside the box. He throws the box away and says, let’s start with a blank slate and see where this could go. That’s leadership.”

Huckabee then made a dramatic prediction about Trump’s potential impact on the Middle East. “I will use this term, Maria,” he added. “I think we will see something of biblical proportion happen with his leadership in the Middle East.”

The remarks have sparked widespread speculation about what Trump’s approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict might look like if he returns to the White House, with critics warning that U.S. intervention in Gaza could further complicate an already volatile region.
