Jimmy Kimmel, known for his sharp wit and satirical take on politics, did not hold back in his response to Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s latest conspiracy theory. On his show, Kimmel lampooned the Georgia congresswoman for her baseless claim that President Joe Biden had attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump during an FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago.

This allegation, as reported by HuffPost, was part of Greene’s interpretation of the FBI’s 2022 action to recover stolen classified documents. Kimmel, visibly amused and incredulous, reacted to Greene’s assertion by saying, “What a rich imagination this woman has. You’d almost think she has the brain of a child, you know?”

He proceeded to underscore the absurdity of the claim with a segment featuring conservative pundits who propagated the theory. Kimmel’s segment, which included a montage of such figures, emphasized the outlandish nature of the assassination narrative. “The diabolical mastermind, Joe Biden, sent an elite team of ultra-liberal FBI agents to assassinate Donald Trump, but somehow he slipped out the back door,” Kimmel quipped, as per The Daily Beast’s report.

He highlighted the oversight in the conspiracy theorists’ narrative: “Somehow they missed the fact that the loudest and most famous man in America, and all 15 of his Secret Service agents, were in New Jersey at the time that they raided Mar-a-Lago.” Kimmel further criticized the hyperbolic reactions from Trump’s circle, contrasting their portrayal of the document recovery as an “assassination attempt” with their minimization of the January 6 Capitol riot. “They’re so dramatic.

The temperature in the courtroom is a ‘freezing icebox,’ recovering stolen documents is ‘an assassination attempt,’ but this?” he said, showing clips from the riot. He sarcastically concluded, “That’s just tourism.” Meanwhile, Greene took to the social media platform X to amplify her claims, writing, “The Biden DOJ and FBI were planning to assassinate Pres Trump and gave the green light. Does everyone get it yet???!!!! What are Republicans going to do about it?” Trump and his allies quickly echoed these sentiments, despite the standard nature of the DOJ’s actions.

The online community also reacted strongly, with one user commenting on the gravity of Greene’s accusations, “Fact Checking… Marjorie Taylor Greene is accusing President Biden of conspiring to assassinate Donald Trump. She is committing a crime here. Making a false accusation of a conspiracy to commit murder is a serious offense.”

This ongoing clash between Greene and Kimmel reflects deeper political divides, with Kimmel using his platform to challenge and ridicule what he views as dangerous and unfounded narratives. His monologue concluded with a sobering reflection: “This would actually be funny if it wasn’t so stupid and dangerous.” As this saga continues, Greene remains a favored subject of Kimmel’s critiques, just as she persistently voices her disdain for the comedian.
