Podcaster Joe Rogan has shared his thoughts on President Donald Trump approaching his 80th birthday, suggesting that the milestone highlights a broader concern about aging political leaders and the decisions they make.
Rogan discussed the topic during a recent episode of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, where he was joined by British political commentator Konstantin Kisin. The conversation turned to global politics and how world leaders might perceive an aging American president.
While speaking on the podcast, Rogan wondered how adversaries might view the situation. He referenced a hypothetical scenario involving Iran’s leadership and suggested that some might see Trump’s age as a factor in political calculations. According to reporting cited by The Hill, Rogan asked whether the now slain Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei might look at Trump and say, “let’s f— with that guy.”
Rogan then reflected on the broader issue of leaders governing late into old age. “Right, he’s 80, he doesn’t have much to lose. That’s the scary thing about old leaders — it’s like, death is imminent. It’s within a decade, if you’re lucky,” Rogan said. “That’s spooky.”

He continued by emphasizing the weight of decisions made by world leaders, particularly when those decisions affect future generations. “You’re making decisions for babies and children and the future of the world, and you’ve got maybe 10 years left on Earth if everything goes great,” Rogan said.
Trump’s age has increasingly become a topic of public discussion during his second term in office. If he reaches his 80th birthday while serving, he will be the oldest president in U.S. history.
Questions about the president’s health have also surfaced in recent months. The White House has been cautious about releasing detailed medical information, though officials have addressed some concerns publicly.
According to the administration, Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that can lead to symptoms such as swelling in the ankles and lower legs. The White House has also explained that bruising sometimes seen on the president’s hands is linked to frequent handshaking during public appearances.
Despite these explanations, Trump’s health and age continue to be closely watched by political observers and commentators. Rogan’s remarks add to the ongoing debate about whether advanced age should play a larger role in discussions about political leadership and the long-term decisions made by those in power.
