Sebastian Gorka Clashes with CNN’s Jake Tapper in Fiery Interview

Deputy assistant to President Donald Trump, Sebastian Gorka, launched into a combative exchange with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Wednesday, unleashing insults at the media, the Biden administration, and a foreign terrorist he referred to as a “piece of human filth.”

Gorka appeared on CNN to discuss the Trump administration’s loosening of rules for U.S. military airstrikes but quickly turned the interview into a verbal showdown. The confrontation escalated when Tapper introduced a question about USAID budget cuts, citing The Washington Post as a source.

“Is that the same Washington Post that propagated the Russia, Russia collusion hoax for the last eight years?” Gorka shot back, pausing for a response. “Well, regardless of the Russia, Russia…” Tapper attempted to continue before being interrupted.

“No, not regardless!” Gorka fired. “You’re quoting The Washington Post to me, which is as effective as posting for me or quoting to me any other pillar of the fake news industrial complex. I really couldn’t care less what The Washington Post or The New York Times says, especially when it’s anonymous government officials.”

He continued, “If it’s true, put your name to it. If it’s not, shut up.” As Tapper attempted to redirect the conversation toward the broader issue of USAID cuts, Gorka placed the blame squarely on the Biden administration.

“The ideological infection of aid and other parts of government under the administration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, which in many cases, actually supported individuals whose views were antithetical to the founding principles of our republic,” Gorka claimed.

Defending the Trump administration’s counterterrorism strategies, Gorka doubled down: As the senior director for counterterrorism, let me assure you, Jake Tapper, that nothing we have done in the last 53 days has undermined the counterterrorism capabilities of our allies or friends. On the contrary, just as we have unleashed the hounds of hell to kill jihadis, we have made our partners much, much more capable of doing the job they need to do.”

Later in the interview, Gorka shifted focus to the 2021 U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, labeling it an “atrocious withdrawal and surrender” and blaming it on the Biden administration’s leadership. “That was led by the Biden administration, by Mark Milley, [and] by that disgrace to the former uniform he wore, Lloyd Austin,” Gorka said.

The heated interview, which quickly spread across social media, highlighted the ongoing political tensions between Trump loyalists and mainstream media figures, with Gorka standing firm in his attacks on both the press and the current administration.
