“Very Close With the Trump Family”: Barron Trump Spoke With Andrew Tate, Report Says

President Donald Trump’s youngest son has reportedly been in contact with Andrew Tate, the polarizing social media figure charged with rape and human trafficking. According to a New York Times report, Barron Trump, 19, admired the influencer and even spoke with him last year during a suit fitting arranged by a mutual friend.

The connection was described by Justin Waller, a close ally of Andrew and Tristan Tate. Waller, 39, has long referred to himself as the brothers’ “third brother” and said he also plays a “big brother” role to Barron. He told the Times that Barron and Andrew spoke over Zoom while Waller’s tailor was fitting Barron for a suit.

During that conversation, they discussed their shared belief that Romanian authorities were attempting to “silence” the Tate brothers through criminal charges. Romanian prosecutors have accused the brothers of trafficking more than 30 women, forming an organized criminal group for sexual exploitation, and, in Andrew’s case, rape. They also face rape and trafficking charges in the U.K. Both brothers deny all allegations.

Waller said Barron never mentioned helping the Tates with their legal cases. Instead, their discussions also touched on the idea of using online platforms to support Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Not long after Trump returned to Washington, some notable Tate supporters surfaced within the administration. The Times reported that Ric Grenell, one of the Tate brothers’ prominent American defenders, spoke with Romanian officials twice about their case. Soon after, the brothers’ travel ban in Romania was lifted.

Grenell, who was later appointed interim president of the Kennedy Center, has downplayed his interactions with Romanian officials. He characterized one exchange as a brief hallway encounter and insisted “no substantive conversation” took place. Grenell added, “I have never met the Tate Brothers, I’ve never been to Romania.” He did not respond to the newspaper’s reporting that he also met an adviser to the Romanian prime minister at Mar-a-Lago last December.

The Daily Beast reached out to both the White House and the Tate brothers’ attorney, Joseph McBride, for comment. McBride told the Times that its reporting on Barron and Andrew was “fake news.” Barron has been credited with helping his father build influence among younger male voters. He reportedly encouraged Trump, 79, to appear on podcasts and speak with figures popular in the manosphere, including Joe Rogan.

Andrew Tate has publicly claimed a close relationship with the Trump family. After a young man attempted to assassinate Trump during the summer of 2024, Tate told reporters he had spoken with Barron about the shooting. “I’m very close with the Trump family. I know them well,” he said. “I look forward to, once I am free, being with Donald Trump in person and reminding him that he’s a bulletproof badass.”
