BRYAN, Texas — A 29-year-old Texas man is facing murder charges after allegedly shooting his common-law wife 15 times in a fit of rage over suspicions of infidelity. Brandon Michael Dickerson called 911 minutes after the shooting, confessing to the crime, according to the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. on Friday, February 7, at a residence on East 18th Street in Bryan, Texas. Upon arrival, officers found Dickerson’s wife, identified as Alexis Walls, dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Dickerson was promptly arrested at the scene.

In a chilling admission, Dickerson reportedly told investigators he shot Walls 15 times because he believed she was having an affair. The couple’s 18-month-old child was present in the home during the shooting but was unharmed, according to local news outlet KBTX.
Dickerson, described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds in police records, is currently being held at the Brazos County Detention Center on a $300,000 bond. He has been charged with murder as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
Under Texas law, a common-law marriage is recognized if a couple agrees to be married, lives together in the state as spouses, and presents themselves as married to others. It remains unclear how long Dickerson and Walls had been in a common-law marriage or the specifics of their relationship prior to the shooting.
