A North Carolina man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly opened fire in a grocery store parking lot during a domestic dispute.

The Wake Forest Police Department received reports about shots fired at Lowes Foods just after 9 p.m. on Saturday (October 21).

When officers arrived, two people told them that 35-year-old Mirza Zukanovic shot at them during an argument. After Zukanovic fired several shots, a bystander, who had a license to carry, drew his gun and started shooting at Zukanovic, causing him to flee the scene.

Authorities said that nobody was injured in the shooting, and there were no reports of property damage. Zukanovic, who was allegedly intoxicated at the time, crashed his car a short time later and was taken into custody.

He is being held at the Wake County Detention Center on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm in the city limits, driving while impaired, having no operator’s license, failure to wear a seatbelt, and failure to maintain lane control.
