Bryan Braman, the former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker known for his wild energy on the field and his signature flowing hair, has passed away at just 38 years old.
His agent, Sean Stellato, confirmed the heartbreaking news to ESPN, saying Braman died following a battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. He was diagnosed in February and had undergone multiple surgeries to fight the disease.
Braman, who played in the NFL from 2011 to 2017, was part of the Eagles’ legendary Super Bowl 52-winning team in 2018. Though he wasn’t always the star of the show, his contributions on special teams and in the locker room made him a beloved teammate and fan favorite.
Stellato said Braman died surrounded by loved ones. “He was a warrior till the end,” Stellato said. “He lived life with the same fire he brought to the game.”
Braman leaves behind two daughters, ages 8 and 11, and his mother.
He first entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2011, quickly making a name for himself as a fierce special-teams standout. After three years with the Texans, he signed with the Eagles in 2014 and played a vital role in their special teams unit through 2016. He returned briefly in 2017 for the playoff run that culminated in a Super Bowl win over the Patriots.
Though Braman didn’t rack up huge stats during his career, those who played with him say his impact went far beyond numbers. Teammates often spoke of his relentless work ethic and his willingness to do the dirty work that doesn’t make the highlight reels.
On social media, tributes poured in from former teammates, fans, and NFL players. Many remembered Braman not just as a football player, but as a passionate, caring person who lifted everyone around him.
“Gone way too soon,” one former teammate wrote. “You were always the one hyping up the squad, bringing that fire. Rest easy, B.”
His story isn’t just one of a football player—it’s about grit, perseverance, and never backing down, even when the odds are stacked high.
Braman’s death is a devastating reminder of how life can change in an instant. Just months ago, he was still making appearances at fan events and catching up with old teammates. His illness progressed quickly, and the football community is still processing the sudden loss.
As of now, there are no public details on funeral arrangements, but fans and fellow players are already calling for some sort of tribute at an upcoming Eagles game.
To many, Braman represented the heart and hustle of football. He wasn’t flashy, but he always showed up ready to work—and that’s what made him unforgettable.
