Todd and Julie Chrisley are stepping back into the spotlight with a new reality docuseries following their release from federal prison. Titled The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, the upcoming Lifetime series documents the couple’s emotional homecoming after being pardoned by President Donald Trump.
The trailer for the highly anticipated show was released this week, offering fans a glimpse into the family’s journey of reconciliation and healing. Cameras follow the Chrisleys as they reunite with their children—Chase, 29, Savannah, 27, Grayson, 19, adopted daughter Chloe, and the beloved family matriarch, Nanny Faye Chrisley, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
Convicted in 2022 of tax evasion, wire fraud, and defrauding banks of over $30 million, Todd and Julie were sentenced to 12 and 7 years, respectively. However, after serving 28 months in separate federal facilities—Todd in Florida and Julie in Tennessee—they were released in May under a controversial pardon granted by Trump.
The trailer captures the emotional moment the couple returns home, embracing their family after years apart. “We can tell this story today, and we can be done with this part of our lives,” Julie says in the trailer, her signature blonde hair restored and emotions clearly still raw.

Todd, known for his candid commentary, adds in a confessional segment, “I’m looking at this as me exposing the truth.” The series promises to go beyond the surface of a typical reality show, delving into the legal turmoil, time spent behind bars, and the couple’s efforts to rebuild both their personal lives and public image.
Since their release, the Chrisleys have launched Chrisley Confessions 2.0, a podcast where they share unfiltered accounts of their prison experiences. In a recent episode, Julie revealed she developed a lung condition while incarcerated, blaming “black mold” and “asbestos” in the prison environment for her declining health.
The new series is set to air on Lifetime beginning September 1 at 8 p.m. ET, and early buzz suggests that the Chrisleys’ signature blend of vulnerability, resilience, and Southern charm will once again captivate audiences.

As public curiosity continues to swirl around their high-profile legal troubles and political ties, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality may offer the most intimate look yet at how this embattled couple is attempting to reclaim their narrative—and their normalcy—after one of reality television’s most dramatic downfalls.
