Manny Hostin, the husband of “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin, was taken aback by a moment during a recent episode of the show. Following a hip-hop performance that featured legendary rapper Doug E. Fresh, Manny expressed his surprise at the proximity of the performance to Sunny. This incident occurred during a special segment celebrating Sunny’s birthday, where Doug E. Fresh’s dance moves seemed “a little too close” for Manny’s comfort, as Sunny recounted on the Behind the Table podcast, as per US Weekly.

The episode in question was dedicated to marking 50 years of hip-hop, and Doug E. Fresh’s enthusiastic participation led to a moment where he danced near Sunny, prompting a swift reaction from her after she noticed Manny’s disapproval from the audience. Sunny shared this personal anecdote in response to a fan’s question about Manny’s thoughts on her admiration for actor Idris Elba. The exchange highlighted Manny’s protective nature, with Sunny noting, “Doug E. got too fresh for Manny, and he doesn’t like it.”

The moment sparked a conversation between Sunny and the show’s producer, Brian Teta, on the podcast, where they both reflected on the unexpected reaction. Entertainment Weekly reached out to representatives for Sunny and Doug E. Fresh for further comments on the incident.

Sunny’s 55th birthday celebration on “The View” was designed to pay homage to the rich history of hip-hop, featuring performances by iconic artists like Rob Base, The Sugarhill Gang, and DJ Chill Will, alongside Doug E. Fresh. Sunny, initially joining her co-hosts Ana Navarro, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, and Joy Behar in the audience, later took to the stage to interview Fresh, reminiscing about her first concert experience seeing him perform.

The episode culminated with Sunny joining the artists on stage for a final performance, leading to the moment that caught Manny’s attention. Sunny and Manny Hostin, who were married in 1998 after meeting in a bagel café in Maryland, share two children, Paloma and Gabriel. Sunny often shares insights into her family life and her children’s achievements on the show, reflecting her close-knit family dynamics.
