Kourtney Kardashian Questions Why Kids Even Go to School

Kourtney Kardashian Barker has never exactly followed the rulebook, and her latest take on traditional education is raising eyebrows. During a recent chat on Khloé in Wonder Land, her sister Khloe’s podcast, the 45-year-old reality star opened up about how she often questions societal norms, especially when it comes to parenting.

In the middle of swapping childhood memories, Kourtney made it clear she doesn’t just go against the grain to stand out—it’s how she genuinely sees the world. “No, I think living authentically is not conforming to whatever it is,” she told Khloe, adding that it applies to everything in her life, not just her family.

One of the most striking moments came when Kourtney started talking about the school system. “Like, let’s say the school system. I’ll think, ‘Why do kids go to school?’ Truly. It’s so dated,” she said, not attempt to sugar-coat her thoughts. Khloe was right there with her, jumping in with, “Oh, I’m such a homeschooled person. So don’t even get me going.”

Kourtney, who shares three children—Mason, Penelope, and Reign—with ex Scott Disick and a baby son, Rocky, with husband Travis Barker, explained that her kids even send her clips of successful people who’ve never followed the typical school path. “And then I’m like, ‘What’s the goal here? Do you want to homeschool? Let’s do it!’ Or whatever it is,” she said. For her, it’s not about rebellion—it’s about rethinking what works for her family.

But it doesn’t stop with education. Kourtney also talked about her approach to healthcare, revealing that she tends to avoid giving her kids over-the-counter medicine like Tylenol or ibuprofen. “I just want to do that,” she said of treating fevers naturally, suggesting that her way might be more common globally, just not so much in the U.S.

She hinted that while her choices might seem unconventional in America, she believes many people around the world parent the way she does, just not as loudly.

It’s no surprise considering Kourtney’s long-standing passion for wellness, which she’s channelled into her lifestyle brand, Lemme. And with Travis also co-parenting three children from his previous relationship, the Barker-Kardashian household is writing its own rules on family life.

Unsurprisingly, her unfiltered opinions are stirring up plenty of debate—but if there’s one thing Kourtney’s not doing, it’s conforming for the sake of it.
