Kardashian’s star reveals why she wants to testify in robbery trial

Kim Kardashian is preparing to testify in person at the upcoming trial for the suspects involved in the 2016 Paris robbery that saw millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry stolen from the reality star. A source close to Kardashian revealed to PEOPLE that she is eager to take the stand against those responsible for the multi-million-dollar heist.

“Kim’s a bit nervous, but she always said that she wanted to testify in person,” an insider shared. “This is her choice. She was terrified for her life during the robbery. She wants the people involved convicted.”

The trial is a significant moment in Kardashian’s ongoing efforts to seek justice after the traumatic robbery nearly a decade ago. On May 12, Kardashian confirmed that she was traveling abroad with a post shared to her Instagram Stories, which showed a photo from her private plane looking out over the landscape, accompanied by an emoji of the French flag.

In October 2016, Kardashian was targeted during a robbery at the No Address hotel in Paris. The thieves broke into her hotel room in the middle of the night, where they bound and gagged her before placing her in a bathtub. The five masked robbers then stole jewelry estimated to be worth around $9 million, according to PEOPLE. Shockingly, most of the stolen items were never recovered.

As the trial continues, 10 people are expected to appear in court to face charges related to the robbery, as reported by The New York Times. The trial began on April 28, 2025, and Kardashian’s testimony will likely be a key part of the proceedings, as she has consistently advocated for the conviction of those responsible for the terrifying ordeal.

Kardashian’s decision to testify in person underscores the emotional and personal nature of this case for her, as she continues to seek justice for the trauma she endured during the robbery. With the trial now in progress, all eyes are on the courtroom as the legal process unfolds.
