Justin Baldoni’s lawyers have responded forcefully to Blake Lively’s latest accusations, rejecting her claims that confidential deposition details were leaked to the media by his side.
In a court filing dated August 6, Baldoni’s attorneys dismissed Lively’s assertion that the Wayfarer defendants may have been responsible for the alleged leak.
The filing states that the actress “alleges that ‘it also appears that the Wayfarer Defendants immediately leaked details from the deposition to the tabloid media.’ She does not cite any evidence. This is not surprising as there is none,” according to the It Ends With Us director’s legal team.
Justin Baldoni’s lawyers also questioned why Lively, 37, would assume the information originated from their client, emphasizing that several other individuals had access to the deposition proceedings.

“Ms. Lively also fails to explain why any such ‘leak’ could not have originated from Ms. Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, her multiple attorneys, the law firm’s administrative staff, or even the catering staff employed to serve lunch,” the filing continued.
The defense also criticized Blake Lively’s previous attempts to restrict attendance at the deposition. “Putting aside the identity of the culprit, all parties are entitled to attend all depositions,” the court document noted.
Lively’s camp issued its own statement on August 7, expressing confidence following her sworn testimony. “We are very pleased with the outcome of her deposition and now look forward to deposing Justin Baldoni and each of the co-defendants in short order,” her spokesperson said.
The statement also underscored the importance of keeping deposition content private until trial. “Deposition testimony is confidential for good reason — it’s evidence in a legal proceeding and is subject to objections and evidentiary rules,” Lively’s representative told People magazine.

“Juries aren’t just handed deposition transcripts to read at home, and instead they listen to testimony that is presented at trial under a judge’s supervision,” the spokesperson added.
The dispute between the two actors stems from ongoing litigation in which both are central figures. The legal battle is set to continue for some time, with a trial currently scheduled for March 2026. Both Lively and Baldoni are expected to testify in court.
As tensions escalate, the back-and-forth between the parties’ legal teams signals that the coming months are likely to be marked by further procedural sparring before the case reaches a jury.
