Joe Manganiello is engaged again following divorce from Sofia Vergara

Joe Manganiello is preparing to walk down the aisle once again, just two years after his split from actress Sofía Vergara. The True Blood star, 48, took to Instagram on Friday, October 17, to announce his engagement to actress and television host Caitlin O’Connor, 36.

In the heartwarming post, Manganiello shared a photo of himself and O’Connor cuddling with their chihuahua, Bubbles. O’Connor’s hand is prominently displayed on Manganiello’s forearm, showcasing a sparkling engagement ring. The actor captioned the photo with a simple yet significant, “June 24th, 2025,” which appears to be the date of his proposal.

A day earlier, Manganiello reportedly introduced O’Connor as his fiancée during an appearance at the San Diego International Film Festival, according to TMZ. Manganiello’s engagement comes after he filed for divorce from Vergara on July 19, 2023, after seven years of marriage.

The Modern Family star followed with her own court filing a few weeks later, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting enforcement of their prenuptial agreement. Their divorce was finalized in February 2024, as confirmed by People magazine.

Earlier this year, Vergara opened up about the end of their marriage in an interview with El País, explaining, “My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom.” She added, “I feel it’s not fair to the baby.”

Manganiello, however, shared his perspective in Men’s Journal in July, saying, “That’s simply not true.” He went on to add, “To be painted as if I had some sort of midlife crisis… that’s never who I was.”

Now, Manganiello has found happiness again with O’Connor, and the couple seems excited to start this new chapter together. Fans are eagerly awaiting the wedding date, with June 24th, 2025, already marked as a special day in the couple’s journey.
