Ye, the musician formerly known as Kanye West, announced his intention to run for president in 2024 in a video broadcast on Sunday.

Milo Yiannopoulos, a well-known far-right commentator and former Breitbart worker who recently interned for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, appeared in the video alongside the artist, who stated that Yiannopoulos is “working on the campaign.” The video claims to show Ye walking around what looks to be the artist’s office, with clothing filling one area.

“So you are running?” the cameraperson for the gossip site X17Online asks. Ye responds, “Yes… It’s simple,” Ye added. “It’s just we’re moving toward the future.”

The video’s fame comes only hours after the rapper checked his Twitter account, writing on Sunday, “Testing Testing.” “Seeing if my Twitter is unblocked,” elicited rapid responses ranging from “The goat is back” to “oh bad.”

Elon Musk, the new CEO of Twitter, replied to Ye’s newest post, stating, “Don’t kill what ye hate, save what ye love.”

Musk also welcomed another 2024 contender to the site, reactivating Donald Trump’s account after polling users on whether the former president should be allowed back on the platform. The majority of voters said “Yes.”

After failing to gain traction in the 2020 presidential election, Ye was expected to make a statement for the 2024 presidential election. Despite appearing on the presidential ballot in multiple states, including battleground areas like Pennsylvania, the rapper urged his fans to vote for him as a write-in candidate.

Along with Liz Cheney, Howard Stern, and Andrew Yang, The Hill named Ye one of the top five independent candidates most likely to run in 2024.
