Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Denied Bail Again as Judge Cites Flight Risk Concerns

Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied bail for the fifth time as a federal judge again ruled that he poses a potential risk to public safety and could flee if released. In a decision issued Monday, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian found that Combs failed to meet the legal requirements necessary for pre-sentencing release.

The ruling comes as the hip-hop icon awaits sentencing following his July 2 federal conviction on charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.

“The Court must find by clear and convincing evidence that the person is not likely to flee or pose a danger to the safety of any other person or the community if released,” Judge Subramanian wrote. “Mr. Combs fails to satisfy this burden.”

The judge also emphasized that bail could only be considered under “exceptional reasons,” such as advanced age or serious medical conditions that cannot be properly addressed in custody. “This is not that case,” Subramanian stated bluntly.

Combs, 54, is currently being held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, but remains in custody on the prostitution-related conviction.

Just days prior to the judge’s ruling, Combs’ ex-girlfriend, Virginia “Gina” Huynh—identified as “Victim-3” in the federal indictment—submitted a letter to the court advocating for his release. In the letter, Huynh publicly identified herself for the first time and described Combs as a “family man,” asserting that he is “not a danger to the public.”

Despite her appeal, the court sided with prosecutors who have argued that Combs’ vast financial resources, international connections, and previous conduct make him a flight risk. They also raised concerns over witness safety and the integrity of the judicial process, should he be released.

Combs’ legal team has continued to push for bail, arguing that the nature of the conviction does not warrant extended pre-sentencing detention and that he remains committed to complying with all legal requirements. However, the judge’s repeated denials have made clear that the court views the risk as too great.

With sentencing still pending, Combs faces the possibility of substantial prison time. Legal analysts note that his continued detention may signal the court’s intention to take a hard line when sentencing is ultimately handed down.

For now, the once-celebrated entrepreneur and entertainer remains behind bars, awaiting the next phase of a legal battle that has gripped the entertainment world and cast a long shadow over his legacy.
