Wendy Williams, the former daytime talk show host known for The Wendy Williams Show, was rushed to the hospital after a distressing incident at her assisted living facility in New York City. According to TMZ, police were dispatched to conduct a wellness check on the 60-year-old TV personality after she dropped a handwritten note from a fifth-story window pleading for help.
The note reportedly read, “Help! Wendy!!” and witnesses saw her frantically waving her arms while speaking on the phone. Following the alarming scene, police escorted Williams to Lenox Hill Hospital, where she was placed under psychiatric evaluation.

This hospitalization follows a recent “capacity test” conducted on Williams on Monday, March 10, 2025. Reports indicate that she successfully answered all 10 questions correctly. The test results are expected to be expedited to the court handling her guardianship case, where a judge will review the findings.
Despite her past struggles, the evaluation reportedly showed no signs of frontotemporal dementia, a condition she was diagnosed with in 2023, alongside primary progressive aphasia.

For those unfamiliar, primary progressive aphasia is a neurodegenerative disease that leads to the gradual loss of language skills. It is often an early indicator of Alzheimer’s disease and is closely associated with frontotemporal dementia.
Prior to this incident, Williams had been vocal about her discomfort and unhappiness in her assisted living facility, describing her experience as feeling like a prisoner.
