Shakira Breaks Record With One Million Tickets Sold in Mexico

Shakira has added another remarkable milestone to her career as her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour continues to make history. The global superstar has officially sold one million tickets in Mexico alone, setting a record that cements her status as one of the most influential performers of her generation. Concert promoter OCESA shared the news on Thursday, July 31, in a statement posted to X (formerly Twitter).

“This is an unprecedented figure and a statement of impact as powerful as the historic record of her 12 sold-out dates at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City,” the company announced. “One million tickets… in a country of 129 million inhabitants!”

The achievement comes as part of Shakira’s groundbreaking tour, which includes 26 shows across Mexico in two separate phases. The Colombian singer first stunned audiences in March with seven consecutive sold-out concerts at Estadio GNP Seguros. She will return to the venue in August and September for five additional dates: August 26, 27, 29, 30, and September 18, reports Billboard.

In total, Shakira will have performed 12 shows at Estadio GNP Seguros, making her the first artist ever to reach that number at the iconic venue, which was previously known as Foro Sol. The historic feat has placed her in a league of her own within the live music industry.

Known worldwide as the “Queen of Latin Music,” Shakira has built a career spanning three decades, with hits such as Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), Hips Don’t Lie, and Whenever, Wherever becoming international anthems. Her latest success with the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour underscores her lasting impact on both Latin American and global audiences.

At 40, the singer shows no signs of slowing down. OCESA hinted that Shakira could surpass her own record of nine performances at Estadio GNP Seguros, as overwhelming demand has led to additional dates being added. With every show selling out at lightning speed, she is poised to continue raising the bar for live performance achievements.

The one-million-ticket milestone highlights not only Shakira’s star power but also the devotion of her fanbase across Mexico. Her concerts, which blend powerful vocals, intricate choreography, and cultural pride, have long drawn multigenerational audiences eager to witness her electrifying stage presence.

With her current tour breaking records across Latin America, Shakira has once again proven her ability to transcend borders, languages, and genres—making history one sold-out stadium at a time.
