In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the 25-year-old actress expressed pride in the show and her role despite its controversial reception.
“I love it. Honestly, I love it,” Depp said of the series. “You make something and you hope that people like it, and you hope that it resonates with people.” Depp acknowledged the polarizing nature of the project, saying, “We always knew some people were not going to like it and that it was going to be too much for some people. But I stand by it. We made a choice, and we went for it.”
Reflecting on her experience filming the Sam Levinson-directed series, Depp described it as a pivotal moment in her career. “I loved the experience of making it—that was a huge turning point for me,” she shared. “I learned so much about myself, and I got to progress so much in my work.” Depp called the production “a real growing period,” adding, “I’m proud of what it is.”

And I loved the character profoundly,” she concluded.
