Driver Arrested After Crash at Jennifer Aniston’s Multi-Million Dollar Mansion

A man was arrested on Monday, May 5, after allegedly crashing his car into the front gates of Jennifer Aniston’s $21 million Bel-Air mansion. The incident occurred at 12:20 p.m., when the suspect, later identified as Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, drove his vehicle through the gates of the residence. Aniston’s private security team detained Carwyle until law enforcement arrived on the scene.

According to law enforcement officials, Aniston, 56, was home at the time of the crash, although she was not injured. The LAPD arrested Carwyle for felony vandalism, and he is being held without bail. Despite earlier reports suggesting the suspect was in his 70s, according to ABC News.

An investigation into the incident is underway, with authorities looking into the man’s motive for crashing into the gates. A representative for Aniston has not yet commented on the situation. The startling incident comes as Aniston prepares to leave her Bel-Air property. The actress is set to move into a nearly $15 million mansion in Montecito.

Aniston purchased the property from Oprah Winfrey for $14.8 million in September 2022. Over the past three years, she has reportedly been renovating the Tuscan-style farmhouse, which features four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Aerial photos taken in March suggest that the renovations are nearing completion, meaning Aniston will soon make the Montecito property her main residence.

Aniston’s move to Montecito follows a growing trend of celebrities relocating to the affluent Santa Barbara area. Stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, Adam Levine, and Ariana Grande have all made the move, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have called Montecito home since 2020, as told to Access Hollywood

The crash at Aniston’s Los Angeles home also comes amid recent rumors linking her to The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal. The two were spotted dining together for three hours in West Hollywood in March, leading to speculation about a possible romance.

However, Pascal, 50, addressed the rumors, explaining that the dinner was simply to discuss Aniston potentially joining the HBO series. Pascal also expressed his admiration for Aniston, saying, “I would do anything for Jennifer. She’s that person. She’s that person to everyone.” In a fun twist, Aniston made a brief cameo in the Season 2 premiere of The Last of Us, appearing on the cover of a 2003 People magazine.
