George Clooney Talks Parenting Juggle With Amal: “You Do the Best You Can”

George Clooney is offering a candid look at parenthood and how he and Amal Clooney manage raising their twins while juggling demanding careers. Speaking with E! News, the actor shared that even with a strong partnership, keeping everything running smoothly at home is far from simple.

He explained that he and Amal do their best to create balance, especially when work takes one of them away. “You try to pace it so that I’m doing it and then she’s home, and then she goes, and I’m home. We try to mix it up a little bit,” he said. Still, Clooney acknowledged that no parent gets everything perfect.

“But, you know, you’re never going to get it all right. No one does. My parents didn’t. I don’t know if your parents did, but you know, you’ve got to go to work, too. So, you do the best you can.” George and Amal married in 2014 and welcomed their twins, Ella and Alexander, in June 2017.

Since then, the couple has divided their time between the U.S. and their farm in France, where they enjoy quieter days and a healthier lifestyle with their children. The change of pace allows the family to slow down when work life gets hectic. Even with demanding schedules and frequent travel, the Clooneys maintain a lighthearted atmosphere at home.

George has often spoken about the joy he finds in being a father later in life and how humor plays a big part in their family dynamic. The couple is known for keeping things grounded despite their high-profile careers. Clooney’s comments reflect what many modern parents experience: the pressure to balance work and family while recognizing that perfection is impossible.

Instead, he says, the goal is to be present when it counts and to support each other through the chaos of daily life. Between film projects, humanitarian work, and Amal’s legal career, the Clooneys are often pulled in different directions. Yet they remain committed to making sure one parent is always there for their kids.

Clooney said that approach helps the whole family stay connected, no matter how busy their schedules become. George, the key is accepting that parenting is a constant learning process. He emphasized that mistakes are inevitable, but effort and intention matter more. With a full household and two growing children, the Clooneys continue to navigate parenthood one day at a time while keeping their home filled with warmth and humor.
