Britney Spears fired back just hours after her ex-husband Sam Asghari took a swipe at their brief marriage, making it clear that she has no regrets walking away from what she described as deeply disappointing relationships.
The 43-year-old pop icon took to Instagram on Tuesday with a pointed message aimed at two of her former partners. While she didn’t name names, the timing of the post following Asghari’s remarks to Page Six left little doubt as to her targets.
“I dated two f* complete a**,” Spears wrote candidly. She went on to say she formed stronger emotional bonds with their pets than with the men themselves.
“I realized I loved their dogs more than them, and I think it’s because their dogs bowed to me every time I entered the room!!!” she added.
“Now the guys were, of course, cruel humans that never even acknowledged me, and never held my hand in the car for 6 years!!! I choose animals over people any day!!!” Spears exclaimed.
The Oops… I Did It Again singer, who shares two sons — Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden, 18 — with ex-husband Kevin Federline, also alluded to personal struggles she’s currently facing.
“I’m so turned off by humanity and the way people have literally … I have no words!!!” she wrote, describing it as an “extremely shady week.”
The fiery post came in the wake of a Page Six interview in which Asghari opened up about how his relationship with Spears impacted his public profile.
“I can’t sit here and lie and say, ‘It wasn’t good for me,’” said Asghari, 30. “When you’re in such a public relationship, that gives you that platform — it sort of gave me that platform for who I am.”
